I have taken a close up of the diesel body which should show you that all parts are present including horns and rails. They all ran smooth as silk. Although the colorful road units received more publicity, these switchers were among first widely known accepted diesel locomotives.

They are sealed from the factory. Good luck and give them a home. Buyer to pay return shipping.

All of the switchers come complete with original warranty card, removal instructions and operating. I did open three random locomotives and removed the couplet pockets which are there just for shipping put them on my test track.

The popularity of these units kept them in production from 1950 through 1965, and some can still be seen switching yards today.

Their light weight and ability to negotiate tight radius curves made them ideally suited yard service. I have reproduced that page of the instructions as last picture. I am selling my entire collection over the next several months. For those of you running CDC systems the operating instructions do make reference to utilizing a decoder.

While nearly identical in appearance, the real difference among these switchers was horsepower: sw8 rafted at 800 horsepower, sw9 900 horsepower and sw600 600. I took the pictures without removing locomotives from box so please excuse glare plastic window.
