I took the pictures without removing locomotives from box so please excuse glare plastic window. I did open three random locomotives and put them on my test track. Phase 1 model's had round roof-fan enclosures and flush side louvers. Buyer to pay return shipping.

They all ran smooth as silk. Less than 10 of the locomotives were phase i, vast majority ii, having square roof-fan enclosures and protruding side louvers. The s1 was first of a veer successful line s-series diesel switchers manufactured by American locomotive works. I am selling my entire collection over the next several months.

All of the s1s rode on distinctive blunt trucks, named for their designer, an Alcoa employee. I am listing several s1 locomotives.

Good luck and give them a home. This nimble switcher could negotiate fifty foot radius curves on its compact 30' 6 wheelbase. All of the locos come complete with original warranty card, removal instructions and operating.

They are sealed from the factory. I have taken a close up of the body which should show you that all parts are present including horns and rails.

Production lasted from 1940 to 1950 with 538 units built for more than 90 owners, many during world war ii under the direction of USA government.
