It is factory painted. This is a very nice Precision Scale psc ho brass southern pacific sp 3 locomotive, road 5039, item psc otherwise, the model looks like new. There is one loose air hose part that fell off from the rear of the engine it is included for re attachment. Has nice back head details.

We ran a quick test on a short track. It ran smoothly with working bi directional headlight and rear tender light. Comes with original box and foam with all the part bags.
