Late production units had a shorter nose and some differences in the radiator intakes, which were carried over into early U30B. Many features were carried over into the new body however later production units prototypes for these model's had revised air intakes. You would also need to take into consideration that shipping first class can 4-6 weeks for delivery.

Late in 1966, ge introduced a 3000 horsepower prime mover the U30B.

The success of new series soon pushed ge into number two spot in locomotive sales. Walthers proto ho scale these are stock photos ge U30B - tsunami r sound and dcc 2000 conrail blue, white part limited edition one time run of road numbers.

Production began with a 2500-horsepower, four-axle unit, known as the u25b in and rail fans quickly nicknamed them u-boats. In 1966 a 2800-horsepower prime mover was added to create the u28b.
