Details:

Southern pacific ordered the small three unit sample which were shipped with old bearings from six f3b trade in units.

While most rail fans call these DD35Bs the correct edm designation was dd35. Essentially the guts of two GP 35 put on the same bridged chassis, the original cables booster version is the dd35.

The cab version which came later is the dd35a. Later, they were relegated to transfer service between west Colon and yards closer to Los Angeles, mainly Taylor yard north of downtown. The epee had 3 on their roster assigned road numbers originally.

The model is free of wear wheel plating is intact.

These large units were used on sp's mainline between Los Angeles and new Orleans early in their lives, but were among the first locomotives stored whenever there was a downturn in traffic due to their lack of performance. Equipped with two engines, each prime mover powered one truck each. The model is scarce number 7 of ten produced. There is no DD35B unless perhaps edm retroactively re designated the dd35's.

The model comes with its original box with full foam. At first, sand from the internal sandboxes getting in electrical gear, so new sandboxes were fitted on the walkways in the model is powered with a pair of can motors each truck has its own motor. Overland imported this model from akin of Korea during the epee scrapped all three units in 1978 after their leases ran out.

Unfortunately, the dd35s were initially quite unreliable.
