It was an extremely successful design. Broadway limited 5580 ho usra light mikado up 2488 paragon 3 sound dc dcc mikado, 2488, dcc, in stock and ready to ship now. The usra heavy mikados used pretty much same running gear as light mik's, but boilers were 10 inches larger in diameter and they had cylinders well.

With copies, over 50 railroads used the usra light 2-8-2's. As for the usra light mikados, built 625 total, with 641 copies after ended control. Railroad specific variations are not model ed on these locomotives.

Notice: due to insufficient boiler diameter in the usra mikados, these units will not have smoke. Tr active effort was about 10 higher for the heavy 2-8-2's.

Bliss model's follow the original designs closely.

There were 233 original usra heavy 2-8-2s built plus another 957 copies, covering 23 railroads.
