My first locomotive was given to me in 1956 and since then, I proceeded collect quite a number of them. This is for sure not a toy - more relic of the good old train times to be appreciated and admired. Born in Vienna Austria, I became a proud American many years ago but never lost my love for maRklin ho locomotives.
Connoisseurs have considered thees 3/6 as one of most successful and beautiful locomotive in world. Priced at its efficient coal consumption and good running qualities proved use in regular operation. I have just recently retired and am now offering my collection to suitable collectors who hopefully will get the same pleasure had admiring those great wonders of historic technology. As is, plus a flat amount of the last locomotives this successful class was not retired until 1960 and my mother had pleasure to attend an excursion ride aboard locomotive before it taken out service.
The unusual tapered cab, cone-shaped smoke box door and immense cylinder block were characteristic features of this popular class. Towards shipping, this includes the original box. All my locomotives were only used in trophy case on a short about 10 foot track with actual running time of each locomotive being just handful hours while demonstrating them to friends. A very high level of thermodynamic efficiency was achieved with this four-cylinder running gear.
