The 2525 was final locomotive built for new haven class dears-7. This unit survived the Penn central takeover and was eventually renumbered 2685, a number that it carried into Conrail. Arrangements were made by the Romney through Conrail to have locomotive donated and transported old say brook only weeks before scheduled scrapping.

Like the 529, 2525 stayed on former new haven territory due to its cab signals.

This class was built to replace the worn-out 1947 Alcoa fa fleet.

Thanks to Conrail, another historical locomotive was saved.
